The Auxiliary Medical Service, with its present establishment of a volunteer membership of 4,931, has come a long way since its formation as a prototype Essential Service Corps in 1950. As always, our volunteer members are dedicated and committed to the worthwhile cause of saving lives and relieving pain of the injured, serving all walks of life irrespective of their race, age or occupation. We will grow from strength to strength to optimise our services for the people of Hong Kong by practical and innovative approaches.
